How does a U grade affect my Alliance University CGPA?
A U grade carries grade point 0 but the credits for that course are still counted in the denominator. This significantly lowers your SGPA and therefore your CGPA. Once you clear the backlog, the new grade replaces U and the CGPA is recomputed.
