How UCF GPA Is Calculated

UCF multiplies each grade point by credit hours to get grade points, then divides total grade points by graded credit hours.

The Conversion Formula

UCF uses a 4.0 scale, so:

📌 Grades Excluded from GPA

The following marks carry no grade points and are not counted in graded credit hours: S (Satisfactory), U (Unsatisfactory), NC (No Credit), W (Withdrawal), and I (Incomplete).

An S grade earns credit toward your degree but is not used in GPA; a U reflects attempted credit not earned and also does not affect GPA.

What GPA scale does the University of Central Florida use?

UCF uses a plus/minus 4.0 grade-point scale: A = 4.00, A− = 3.75, B+ = 3.25, B = 3.00, B− = 2.75, C+ = 2.25, C = 2.00, C− = 1.75, D+ = 1.25, D = 1.00, D− = 0.75, and F = 0.00. UCF does not award A+.

Does UCF use an A+ grade?

No. The highest grade UCF awards is A, worth 4.00 grade points. There is no A+ on the UCF scale, so the maximum cumulative GPA is 4.00.

How do I convert my UCF GPA to a percentage?

Use Percentage = GPA × 25 (equivalent to (GPA ÷ 4.0) × 100). For example, a GPA of 3.5 converts to 87.5%.

Which grades are excluded from my UCF GPA?
