Add Your Courses

Pace uses a plus/minus 4.0 scale (QPA). The highest grade is A = 4.0; there is no A+.

The Math

How Pace University QPA Is Calculated

Pace multiplies each grade's quality points by credit hours, then divides total quality points by total credits attempted.

Pace QPA Formula
\[ \text{QPA} = \frac{\displaystyle\sum \text{Quality Points}}{\displaystyle\sum \text{Credits Attempted}} = \frac{\displaystyle\sum (\text{Grade Point} \times \text{Credit Hours})}{\displaystyle\sum \text{Credit Hours}} \]
Quality PointsGrade point value × credit hours for each course
Credits AttemptedGraded credits attempted at Pace, including F (excludes W, I-R, K, P, SAT, UNS, AUD)

📝 Worked Example

A sample QPA calculation using three courses:

CourseCredit HoursGradeQuality PointsTotal
ENG 1103.0A4.03 × 4.0 = 12.0
MAT 1303.0B−2.73 × 2.7 = 8.1
ECO 1053.0F0.03 × 0.0 = 0.0
Total9.020.1

Plugging into the formula:

\[ \text{QPA} = \frac{20.1}{9.0} \approx \mathbf{2.23} \]

Convert GPA → Percentage

Enter any Pace QPA between 0.0 and 4.0.

The Conversion Formula

Pace uses a 4.0 scale, so:

\[ \text{Percentage} = \text{QPA} \times 25 \quad \text{or equivalently} \quad \text{Percentage} = \left(\frac{\text{QPA}}{4.0}\right) \times 100 \]
