Georgia Tech GPA — Frequently Asked Questions
What GPA scale does Georgia Tech use?
Georgia Tech uses a straight 4.0 grade-point scale with no plus or minus grades: A = 4.0, B = 3.0, C = 2.0, D = 1.0, and F = 0.0. There is no A−, B+, or similar value in the official GPA calculation.

Georgia Tech truncates the GPA to two decimal places rather than rounding. For example, a raw GPA of 3.579 is reported as 3.57, not 3.58.
How is Georgia Tech GPA calculated?
Multiply each course's credit hours by its grade value to get quality points, sum all quality points, then divide by total graded credit hours: GPA = Total Quality Points ÷ Total Graded Credit Hours, truncated to two decimals.
Which grades are excluded from my Georgia Tech GPA?
Marks of W, I, V, and S/U (Pass/Fail) carry no quality points and are excluded from graded credit hours, so they don't affect your GPA. Transfer grades are also not used in the Georgia Tech GPA.
