How GMU GPA Is Calculated
Mason multiplies each grade's quality-point value by credit hours, then divides total quality points by GPA hours.
📝 Worked Example
A sample Mason semester using three courses:
| Course | Credit Hours | Grade | Quality Point | Quality Points |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ENGH 101 | 3.0 | A | 4.00 | 3 × 4.00 = 12.00 |
| MATH 113 | 4.0 | B− | 2.67 | 4 × 2.67 = 10.68 |
| ECON 103 | 3.0 | C+ | 2.33 | 3 × 2.33 = 6.99 |
| Total | 10.0 | — | — | 29.67 |
