GPA Calculator

Calculate your UofT GPA and convert it to percentage using the official 4.0 grading scale for both undergraduate and graduate students.

Tool 1

UofT GPA Calculator

Add each course with its letter grade and credit weight. Calculation uses UofT's official 4.0 grade points.

Add Your Courses

UofT uses a 4.0 grade-point scale. A+ and A both equal 4.0.

The Math

How UofT GPA Is Calculated

UofT uses the standard weighted-average formula based on grade points and credit weights.

UofT GPA Formula
\[ \text{GPA} = \frac{\displaystyle\sum (\text{Grade Point} \times \text{Credits})}{\displaystyle\sum \text{Credits}} \]
Grade PointNumerical value of the letter grade (0.0–4.0)
CreditsCredit weight assigned to each course

📝 Worked Example

Suppose a student takes 6 courses with the following grades and credits:

CourseCreditsLetter GradeGrade PointCredit Points
Course 14A+4.04 × 4.0 = 16.0
Course 28A−3.78 × 3.7 = 29.6
Course 36C2.06 × 2.0 = 12.0
Course 45C+2.35 × 2.3 = 11.5
Course 58B−2.78 × 2.7 = 21.6
Course 67C+2.37 × 2.3 = 16.1
Total38106.8

Plugging into the formula:

\[ \text{GPA} = \frac{106.8}{38} \approx \mathbf{2.81} \]
Tool 2

UofT GPA to Percentage Converter

Convert your 4.0-scale UofT GPA to an equivalent percentage instantly.

Convert GPA → Percentage

Enter any UofT GPA between 0.0 and 4.0.

The Conversion Formula

UofT uses a 4.0 scale, so:

\[ \text{Percentage} = \text{GPA} \times 25 \quad \text{or equivalently} \quad \text{Percentage} = \left(\frac{\text{GPA}}{4.0}\right) \times 100 \]

Example: If your GPA is 2.9, then Percentage = 2.9 × 25 = 72.50%.
