Calculate your CapU GPA and convert it to percentage using the official 4.33 grade-point scale used by Capilano University.

Tool 1

CapU GPA Calculator

Add each course with its letter grade and credit value. Calculation uses CapU's official 4.33 grade points.

Add Your Courses

CapU uses a 4.33 grade-point scale. A+ = 4.33 and A = 4.00.

The Math

How CapU GPA Is Calculated

CapU multiplies the grade point of each course by its credits, then divides the total by total credits.

CapU GPA Formula
\[ \text{GPA} = \frac{\displaystyle\sum (\text{Grade Point} \times \text{Credits})}{\displaystyle\sum \text{Credits}} \]
Grade PointNumerical value of the letter grade (0.00–4.33)
CreditsCredit value assigned to each course

📝 Worked Example

Suppose a student takes 4 courses with the following grades and credits:

CourseCreditsLetter GradeGrade PointCredit Points
Course 13A+4.333 × 4.33 = 12.99
Course 23B+3.333 × 3.33 = 9.99
Course 34B3.004 × 3.00 = 12.00
Course 43C+2.333 × 2.33 = 6.99
Total1341.97

Plugging into the formula:

\[ \text{GPA} = \frac{41.97}{13} \approx \mathbf{3.23} \]

CapU GPA to Percentage Converter

Convert your 4.33-scale CapU GPA to an approximate percentage instantly.

Convert GPA → Percentage

Enter any CapU GPA between 0.00 and 4.33.

The Conversion Formula

CapU caps its top grade at A+ = 4.33, so an approximate percentage is:

\[ \text{Percentage} = \left(\frac{\text{GPA}}{4.33}\right) \times 100 \]

Example: If your GPA is 3.67 (an A−), then Percentage = (3.67 ÷ 4.33) × 100 ≈ 84.76%, which sits in the A− band.

Note: CapU does not publish an official GPA-to-percentage formula. Use the grading scale below to map letter grades to their exact percentage ranges.
